You only buy a domain if you have a lot of projects online or in mind, in which case both of them are in favour here. I can tell you if you have your first website I to update my first website each day, when I created a lot more projects in the end updating once three months was already a lot of work. I honestly admit I love each one of my projects and I have a lot in mind, there are so much things that I love and would like to express, but actually brining them online is difficult.
